Why Is Back Glass Repair So Expensive?
The back glass is fused to the frame in most modern devices, especially iPhones. This repair is more labor-intensive, requiring laser separation or complete housing replacement. Newer models like the iPhone 15 Pro Max and Samsung S24 Ultra also feature advanced materials that add to the cost.
DIY Back Glass Repair: What You Should Know
Tempted by a $20 DIY kit? Here’s why that might cost more in the long run:
- High risk of damaging internal components
- Requires tools like heat guns and laser separation machines
- May void your warranty or AppleCare/Samsung Care+
Unless you’re experienced with micro-repairs, it’s best to let certified technicians handle it.
Is the Back Glass Covered by Warranty or Insurance?
- AppleCare+ may cover it for a reduced fee, usually around $29–$99.
- Samsung Premium Care offers similar coverage.
- Carrier insurance (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) might also help, but deductibles can be steep.
- Standard manufacturer warranty usually does not cover accidental damage.
✅ Always check your coverage before paying out of pocket.

Frequantly Asked Questions
How long does a back glass repair take?
Most in-store repairs take 1–2 hours, depending on the model and technician availability.
Can you fix just the glass without replacing the full housing?
Yes, for many models we use laser separation technology to replace only the glass.
Will my phone still be waterproof after repair?
Water resistance may be compromised unless the phone is resealed professionally. We do our best to preserve water resistance, but no repair can guarantee original manufacturer specs.
Do you use original parts?
We use high-quality OEM-grade parts to ensure long-lasting performance.
What if I have more than just back glass damage?
We’ll assess the full device for free, including battery health, charging port, and more.
